Any shape or size of unit can be configured but the most popular is the 3 or 4 metre pod with integral seats and backrests. Most units are supplied with a touchdown on the outside to act as a hot desk for visiting workers. This significantly increases the functionality of the unit.

Meeting pods are not soundproof as there is a void between the screen and the ceiling. It does, however, shield sound very effectively making it difficult to hear what is being said and is suitable for all but the most sensitive meetings. Acoustic performance is enhanced by the 'drum' shape of the unit because speech is reflected off the hard surfaces of the pod back into the centre making it possible to hear everything clearly without speaking loudly. Acoustic performance can be further improved by the use of acoustic fabrics on the panels rather than conventional laminate finishes.
